Barrie Police have concluded their investigation into the incident and it was determined no criminal offence occurred. The male runner was identified and attended to speak to the officer directly. He confirmed a verbal altercation occurred at the side of the road but when the male opened the car door to exit he pushed the door back and turned to leave, catching up with his running group. This, police believe, is when the complainant was struck in the face, though not intentionally.
No one received injuries as a result of the incident and all parties received advice from Police. Thank you to the public for assistance in identifying the male runner.

Barrie Police have received multiple tips in relation the the male involved in this incident and have identified the male. He has been in contact with officers and the investigation is continuing at this time.
Barrie Police have received pictures of a suspect involved in a bazar assault on a passenger in a car while stopped at a south end intersection.
On Wednesday, January 18th, 2017 at 7:45pm police attended the Holly Recreation Center located at 171 Mapleton Avenue, in the City of Barrie, to speak to the victim. He reports he was the passenger of a vehicle driven by his daughter and while stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Batteaux Street and Ardagh Road at 7:10pm a group of runners passed in front of them. One of the runners stopped and began yelling at the car so the victim rolled down the window and exchanged a few angry words with the male. The suspect then approached the car and punched the victim in the head through the open passenger window.
The victim was able to locate the group of runners nearby at the recreation center and managed to snap a picture of the male suspect.

- Wearing dark winter running hat, dark running gear and a reflective arm band
Police are looking to identify the male suspect and speak to him in regards to the incident.
