ARRESTED: Police Seeking Woman Following A Brazen Afternoon Theft

On Sunday, March 12th, 2017 Barrie Police, with the help of a retired loss prevention officer, identified the female responsible for the theft of groceries.  She was placed under arrest in relation to the theft from Zehrs as well as another from the Metro located at 400 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie, when she walked out with a cart full of groceries.  The 58-year-old Barrie female was charged with Theft Under $5000 for both occurrences. 


The Barrie Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect who is wanted for a theft from Zehrs, located at 620 Yonge Street, in the City of Barrie.

On Sunday February 26, 2017, just after 3:30 p.m. a woman was captured on video surveillance brazenly by-passing cashiers, and making no attempt to pay for the various groceries, electronics and cosmetics products she had selected. The woman was stopped outside by a loss prevention officer, although refused to cooperate and fled on foot.  

The items were recovered and is estimated at $1,450.00. The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as;

  • Female, white
  • Medium build, 5’5”
  • Long brown hair
  • Glasses – brown frame
  • Wearing a black “ECKO” zip-up sweater and blue jeans.
