Arrest Made in Jewelry Theft from A Local Downtown Boutique

Police have arrested and charged a 62-year-old Barrie woman with Theft Under $5,000. The woman turned herself into Police Monday afternoon.

On Thursday, March 30, 2017, the woman had been captured on video surveillance stealing a five-strand pearl necklace from Zu Zu Fashion Boutique located at 25 Dunlop Street, East, in the City of Barrie.

The 62-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in bail court Tuesday morning at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Barrie.

Jewelry Theft from A Local Downtown Boutique

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman responsible for a theft from Zu Zu Fashion Boutique located at 25 Dunlop Street, East, in the City of Barrie.

On Thursday, March 30, 2017, just before 12:00 p.m. the woman had been captured on video surveillance selecting a five-strand pearl necklace and intentionally placing it into her purse, and leaving the store without making any attempt to purchase the necklace

The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as;

  • Female, white
  • Heavy build
  • Short white/grey hair
  • Glasses –Thick black frames
  • Wearing a long multi-colour dress, long black jacket and carrying a large black purse.
