Officers from the Community Response Unit (CRU) have arrested a male for being in possession of a loaded handgun.

On Saturday, March 18, 2017, at approximately 6:00 p.m. CRU members attempted to speak with a male who walked off the sidewalk directly into the path of oncoming traffic at the corner of Mary and Dunlop Street.

The male refused to speak with police and quickly fled into a nearby restaurant, but was caught as he ran out the side door. Further investigation revealed the male to be in possession of a loaded 9mm luger pistol and a quantity of Heroin and Cocaine.

A 20-year-old male from Brampton was arrested and charged with two counts of; Possession of a Controlled Substance- Cocaine and Heroin, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine and Heroin and numerous Firearms related charges. He was held for a bail hearing on Sunday, March 19, 2017.
