Barrie Police were called to the downtown library location after witnesses outside observed a male exhibiting unusual and unpredictable behaviour while brandishing a knife.
On Tuesday, March 7th, 2017 at 3:55pm officers attended the Barrie Public Library located at 60 Worsley Street, in the CIty of Barrie, after a concerned citizen called for assistance. The accused male was observed with a 6" bladed knife stabbing at the ground. He then began removing the bricks from a retaining wall and smashing them into pieces while ripping off his clothes. He was located by police shirtless on the library property with the knife in a nearby grassy area. He was placed under arrest and the knife was seized without incident.
