Third Man Remanded into Custody Following Kozlov Street Homicide

On Wednesday, April 5, 2107, just after 12:00 p.m. a 26-year-old male from Barrie was arrested in the City of Barrie. David GLOVER of Barrie has been charged with First Degree Murder and appeared in bail court on Thursday, April 6, 2017. He was remanded into custody until his next court appearance, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

James GARTHWAITE, 24-years-old from Toronto appeared in bail court on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. He was remanded into custody until his next court appearance, which is scheduled for May, 5, 2017. 

The investigation is continuing and a publication ban has been imposed by the courts, and therefore no further information can be released.

Arrests and Charges Laid in Kozlov Street Homicide

(Update) Wednesday, April 5, 2017

The Barrie Police Homicide Unit has arrested and charged three men in an ongoing homicide investigation in the City of Barrie.

On Tuesday, March 14, at 2:41 a.m., Barrie Police responded to a shooting at 101 Kozlov Street, in the City of Barrie. The victim was identified as 50-year-old Dana Camber of Barrie. The cause of death was determined to be a single shotgun wound.

On Monday, April 3, 2017, Greg KEAYS, a 26-year-old from Innisfil was arrested in Barrie, and charged with First Degree Murder. He appeared in bail court on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, and was remanded into custody until his next court appearance, which is scheduled for Monday, April 24, 2017.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, just after 7:00 a.m., 24-year-old James GARTHWAITE from Toronto was arrested in the City of Toronto. He has been charged with First Degree Murder and will appear today before the Ontario Court of Justice in City of Barrie.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2107, just after 12:00 p.m. a 26-year-old male from Barrie was arrested in the City of Barrie. He has been charged with First Degree Murder. He will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in City of Barrie on Thursday, April 6, 2017.

The ongoing investigation led to Barrie Police executing numerous search warrants at various locations, including a residence located on Henderson Drive, in the Town of Innisfil and several addresses in the cities of Barrie, Toronto and Mississauga.  

The investigation is ongoing and a publication ban has been imposed by the courts, and therefore no further information can be released.

Homicide Investigators Release Cause of Death

(Update) Thursday, March 16, 2017 - 3:45 p.m.

The Barrie Police Homicide Unit has completed their forensic investigation at 101 Kozlov Street, Barrie. The forensic post-mortem results issued from the Office of the Chief Coroner have determined that 50-year-old Dana CAMBER of Barrie died as a result of a single shot gun wound to the abdomen.

Investigators urge any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for the death of Dana CAMBER to contact the Barrie Police Homicide Unit at (705)725-7025 or leave a tip at extension 2160. Investigators will continue speaking with witnesses and canvassing the area.

Shooting Prompts Homicide Investigation

(Update) Tuesday, March 14, 2017 - 2:00 p.m.

Investigators now believe the victim and the suspect were known to one another; although at this time do not have anyone in custody.

The 50-year-old victim has been transported to the Ontario Center for Forensic Science (CFS). A forensic post-mortem is schedule for Wednesday, March 15, which will determine the cause of death.

Investigators will be canvassing the building at 101 Kozlov Street, and surrounding area. Police will be utilizing the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in conjunction with a ground search of the perimeter.

Shooting Prompts Homicide Investigation

The Barrie Police Homicide Unit is currently investigating a homicide that occurred at 101 Kozlov Street, in the City of Barrie.

On Tuesday, March 14, at 2:41 a.m., police received a 9-1-1 call reporting there had been a shooting inside 101 Kozlov Street. When officers arrived they located a 50-year-old woman with vital signs absent and suffering from a serious wound. The woman was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

At this time, the investigation is in its preliminary stages and the victim’s identity will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
