ARREST: Stolen Plates and Theft of Gas
April 28th, 2017 - Police & the Community

Barrie Police received multiple tips from the public which led them to identifying the male responsible for the theft of fuel from a local Petro Canada in April.  The 26-year-old Wasaga Beach male was charged with Theft Under $5000 for the gas and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime for the licence plates.  He will attend court in Barrie in June to answer to his charges.

On Friday, April 14th, 2017 at 2:55pm an unknown male attended the Petro Canada Gas Station located at 151 Mapleview Drive West, in the City of Barrie.  The male pumped over $80.00 worth of gas into the silver, newer model Nissan Altima he was driving.  The licence plates on the vehicle had previously been reported stolen from a vehicle in Toronto and did not match with the Nissan.  Once the male had finished pumping gas, he returned to the vehicle and left without making payment.
