Date: Saturday, April 8, 2017 - 12:00pm

A 20-year-old Barrie man found himself looking for a new job and facing criminal charges over the weekend following an incident on Saturday, April 8, 2017.

Police were called to a local fast food restaurant following an altercation between an employee and his manager. It had been reported that the accused had just started on Saturday and was being trained by the store manager.  An altercation between the two men quickly ensued after the accused had been corrected during his training; which resulted in the accused punching the store manager in the face. Several employees quickly intervened and police were called, although the accused fled the restaurant before police arrived. The victim received medical treatment for minor injuries.

On Sunday, April 9, 2017, the accused turned himself into police and was charged with assault. He will appear in an Ontario Court of Justice, in the City of Barrie in May.
