Suspect Wanted in Robbery at Mac's

Barrie Police Service Criminal Investigations Division is investigating a robbery that took place overnight after a male demanded money and cigarettes from a local convenience store.

On Monday, April 24th, 2017 at 1:40am a male entered the Mac’s Convenience store located at 151 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie.  The suspect approached the counter, armed with a knife, and demanded the store employee turnover money from the cash register. The employee complied with the demand and upon collecting the money also grabbed cigarettes placing all items in a black backpack. The suspect fled the store on foot and was last seen heading eastbound through the parking lot.

The employee did not sustain any physical injuries as a result of the incident.

We would like to remind citizens to cooperate with suspects should they find themselves the victim of robbery. Try to get the best description possible and call 9-1-1 immediately. Always be aware of suspicious people and/or vehicles and report them to police.

Suspect Description:

  • Male, white
  • 6' tall, large build
  • Wearing a black balaclava , black jacket and plaid pajama style pants carrying a black backpack
