Theft Suspect Sought by Police

Video surveillance has recently been obtained capturing a theft that occurred on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Cabela’s located at 50 Concert Way, in the City of Barrie, and police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect.

The suspect had been handling several items at the optics counter and was observed leaving the area with a Rangefinder that had been on display and a second one that had been packaged. Minutes later the suspect returned the packaged Rangefinder to the optics counter, but failed to return the Rangefinder that had been on display.

The suspect paid for several small items and left the store with another male, both were last seen leaving the area in a black pick-up truck. The security device that had been on the displayed item was located by loss prevention the following day near the optic counter.

The suspect is described as;

  • Male, white
  • 5’8”, Approx. 200 lbs.
  • Sort grey hair, goatee
  • Wearing a navy blue jacket with white stripes, jeans and running shoes.
