On Thursday, July 20th, 2017 Barrie Police Service received information that the wanted male was at a downtown drug store.  Upon police arrival the male was still on scene and was arrested on the the strength of the warrant.  The 47-year-old Barrie man was charged with one count of Robbery and one count of Breach Probation. He was held at the Barrie Police Service overnight to attend court Friday for a bail hearing to answer to his charges.  


Barrie Police Service has received multiple tips in regards to the identification of the male responsible for a Friday, July 14th robbery at Mac's Convenience located at 149 Dunlop Street, in the City of Barrie.  Wanted for one count of Robbery is 47-year-old James Sinclair of Barrie. Investigators are encouraging the male to turn himself in to Barrie Police Service.

Barrie Police are looking to identify a male who is wanted after an early morning robbery where a good Samaritan entered the store during the robbery and assisted calling 9-1-1 for the employee.

On Friday, July 14th, 2017 at 1:40am a single male suspect entered the Mac's Convenience located at 149 Dunlop Street East, in the City of Barrie, and demanded money while threatening the employee. While the robbery was taking place, a second male entered the store to purchase items.  The employee being robbed was able to communicate undetected what was conspiring and the citizen jumped into action and called 9-1-1.  He was confronted momentarily by the suspect who was suspicious of what he was doing on his cell phone but the witness was able to deflect and leave the store with his purchases.  He stayed on the phone with dispatchers while keeping an eye on the inside of the store.  The employee was also able to press multiple hold up alarms to alert Mac's Securities of the incident. The suspect quickly collected a small amount of cash and exited the store travelling south on Mulcaster Street and disappearing out of sight of the witness. The victim did not sustain any physically injuries during the incident.
