Citizens on Patrol

Citizen's on Patrol (C.O.P.S.) is a community based volunteer group that helps to minimize the amount of crime occurring throughout our city. C.O.P.S. is an easy, effective, and interesting way to prevent crime throughout your neighborhoods. The program provides members with a sense of satisfaction while ensuring a valuable service to our community. This is a great way to volunteer your time and be a positive member of your community. Duties involve patrolling streets, business areas, hotels and parks, as well as documenting suspicious activities. Being a proactive member of the community and assisting police is the number one duty of Citizens on Patrol, so join our team.

Become a Citizen on Patrol Team Member

This program is designed to provide an opportunity for approved individuals to participate in the observation and reporting of any criminal or potentially criminal activity to Barrie Police Service. These volunteers become the 'eyes and ears' for Barrie Police while on patrol. This program does not promote, require or ask for any involvement of members in the apprehension of criminals. The purpose is solely to observe and report - to be the 'eyes and ears' for Barrie Police Service.
