Detectives from the Barrie Police Service have made arrests in two outstanding robbery occurrences from last month after the Circle K located at 3 Marsellus Drive in southwest Barrie was robbed.

The first robbery occurred on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 6:20 p.m. and the second robbery occurred on Monday, February 21, 2022, at 8:10 p.m. In both cases, vaping products were obtained by the suspects, but aided by video surveillance, police immediately realized that the two incidents were carried out by two different persons.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, a 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with the February 15 occurrence. Last night, a 16-year-old male was arrested and charged with the February 21, 2022 incident. Under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), neither of the accused youths can be identified.

Both accused males were released after being charged with Robbery (Section 343(a) Criminal Code of Canada) and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie in the coming weeks.
