The Information Technology Unit (IT) is fundamental to the Barrie Police Service, and is relied on heavily as data is utilized more effectively to improve operations and decision making. In 2022, the Unit updated and upgraded existing systems including a new 911 call handling system for the Communications Unit and a new computer classroom for the Training Unit at the 79 Bell Farm location.
