On Thursday, June 8, 2023, members of the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit arrested a 40-year-old Barrie man following an online child pornography investigation. During the arrest, another computer device was seized and an additional search warrant will be authored for forensics.
In January of 2023, investigators received an online tip concerning the uploading of child pornography. The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant and the seizure of eleven (7) computer devices for forensic analysis.
Forensics were completed and the categorization resulted in the discovery of hundreds of images of child pornography.
The accused has been charged with Accessing Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography. He was remanded into custody and held for bail.
