The Barrie Police Services Board is pleased to announce that Deputy Chief Wyllie Allan will continue in his role for an additional year, as his contract has been extended to the spring of 2024.
“The Barrie Police Services Board thanks Deputy Allan for his continued commitment to the Service and the entire Barrie community,” said Barrie Police Services Board Chair Greg Ferguson. “With Deputy Allan remaining in his role for an additional year, we can continue the meaningful work we have done towards our shared goal of a safer community.”
Deputy Allan was appointed Deputy Chief – Support Services on July 29, 2020. He has served as a police officer for more than 34 years and joined the Barrie Police Service in May of 2000 after 11 years with the Toronto Police Service.
A graduate of the Rotman School of Business – Police Leadership Program, Deputy Chief Allan is a Critical Incident Commander, a designated Hearing Officer under the Police Services Act, and in 2019, received his Certified Municipal Manager Police Professional accreditation.
Deputy Chief Allan is the recipient of the Governor General Exemplary Service 20-year Medal and 30-year Bar in recognition of his loyal meritorious service to law enforcement in Canada. He also recently earned his Master of Public Safety from Wilfrid Laurier University, which will be presented in June 2023.
