Public can share feedback in an online survey and attend Town Hall consultations.
The Barrie Police Service is updating its Strategic Plan and is seeking community feedback.
The development of a Strategic Plan is a requirement for all police services, and the current Barrie Police Service Strategic Plan covers the years 2020–2022. Developing a new Strategic Plan is a welcomed opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the Barrie Police Service and review the progress that has been made to achieve policing excellence to ensure the city of Barrie is a safe and secure community.
The 2023-2025 Barrie Police Service Strategic Plan is being created with input from both internal and external stakeholders and includes a combination of surveys, pop-up displays, focus groups and one-on-one interviews.
The Service is actively seeking feedback from the public to give input on what the community believes the priorities should be for the Service over the next three to five years. All residents of the city of Barrie are encouraged to share their feedback anonymously through a community survey, available online until August 17. The survey can be accessed at www.surveymonkey.com/r/SP2023-2025
In addition, the public is invited to share their thoughts in-person through Town Hall sessions facilitated by the Strategic Planning Unit. The first session will be held in-person on Wednesday, August 10 at the Allandale Recreation Centre from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The second Town Hall will be a virtual session, to be held on Thursday, August 11 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. For more information, or to register for the virtual session, please visit www.BarriePolice.ca/strategicplan
