On Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 9:35 a.m., a lone male suspect entered The Source located in the Georgian Mall via a rear access door that is primarily used for deliveries. Once inside, the male took two X-Box consoles from a shelf in a storage room and left via the delivery door. He then made his way to the main exit on the upper level and out to the parking lot that faces out onto Bayfield Street. The suspect is described as male, average build, wearing a camouflage-print jacket, black track pants with white writing/logo on the upper left thigh, black sneakers with white accents, and a dark-coloured ball cap. The stolen consoles are valued at approximately $380.00 each. On March 27, 2021, Barrie Police were called to the Holly Recreation Centre for a report of multiple windows broken. Several large windows at the main entrance of the facility were discovered smashed, causing approximately $5,000 worth of damage. Surveillance footage captured four suspects at approximately 3:30 a.m. approach the building, with one suspect appearing to record the incident on his cell phone. Two of the suspects can be seen throwing the rocks at the windows causing them to shatter, and a third suspect was seen throwing an object as well. As soon as the glass was broken, all four suspects fled the area. As the suspects appear to be under the age of 18, Police are not permitted to release images. However, a white pick-up truck was spotted in the area at the time, and police believe the driver may have additional information. Anyone who has information is asked to contact Constable M.
