On Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 9:12 p.m., a male arrived by taxi at a south end store and began to select several items from various areas of the store.

Within 10 minutes, the individual made their way to the rear of the store and left by way of an emergency exit only to run to the awaiting taxi that he had arrived in.

The entire selective theft spree was captured on surveillance video. Police have followed up with the involved taxi, but this failed to identify the suspect.

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, shortly after 10:00 a.m., an audible alarm from a parked car was sounded in a parking lot in the east end of Barrie after an unknown male smashed the front passenger side window. 

A purple back containing two electronic devices, two battery booster packs, a pair of sunglasses as well as several gift cards were stolen. This entire incident was captured on surveillance video.

Barrie Police is reminding the public to never leave valuables unattended, even if they are in a locked vehicle. Anything that is left behind should be secured in the trunk and if you own a hatchback style car, they can be placed in the back seat area or on the floor and covered with a blanket.
