A break and enter suspect came prepared this week, as he brought a baby-blue coloured bag of tools with him to break into a Grove Street East apartment building in the early hours of Thursday, January 30.

Surveillance video shows the unidentified male attending the building shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, and wandering around the lobby briefly. Although he was unsuccessful at his first attempt to enter the inner lobby using his tools, on his second attempt he was successful and was able to open the door.

The suspect wandered in and out of camera view for a period of time, before being seen placing a mat under the front lobby door to prevent it from locking. He then left the building and was not seen again before the break-in was discovered and the door secured.

The investigation is ongoing, but police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying this suspect.

The suspect is described as:

  • White male
  • Wearing dark pants/jeans, brown boots, and a grey and black jacket.
  • Short brown hair
  • Carrying a light blue bag which contained the tools he used to enter the building
