,This morning, just after midnight, Barrie Police responded to a report of a two-car collision, on Dunlop Street, just west of Cedar Pointe Drive. Responding officers quickly determined that an involved driver had just left an establishment located on Dunlop Street and rear ended another vehicle that was slowing down to enter the driveway of a neighbouring business. There were no serious injuries sustained by anyone involved as a result of this motor vehicle collision.

The driver of the motor vehicle that rear ended the car that was slowing down, a 39-year-old male from Barrie, was arrested at the scene for Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and was transported to Barrie Police Headquarters where the investigation continued.

While at Headquarters, the investigating officer determined that the now accused was also wanted on two outstanding warrants held by the Barrie Police Service. He was further charged with Impaired Operation over.80mgs, two counts of Fail to Comply with an Undertaking and was later released on an Undertaking that requires him to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on March 22, 2023.
