On Friday, December 1, 2023, the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested a 37-year-old Barrie male after a two month investigation. The male is now facing charges of Accessing Child Pornography, Possession of Child Pornography and Making Child Pornography Available.

The accused used a Peer-to-Peer Network to allow like-minded users connect via the internet and download/upload child pornography files that he were in his possession.

The Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of the accused and seized several computer devices containing child pornography.

The male was held for bail.
