On June 20,  2024, the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit, with the assistance of the OPP Internet Child Exploitation Unit, arrested a 38-year-old Orillia man after a lengthy investigation. The male is now facing two charges of Possession of Child Pornography

Police executed a search warrant at an Orillia residence and seized numerous computer devices along with child sex toys and child pornography books. The male was held for bail and later released to his surety with several conditions and a future court date.

The investigation is currently ongoing, additional charges are expected pending the forensics of seized computer devices.
