On October 21, 2021, the Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Orillia and seized several computer devices and cellular phones for forensic analysis. The forensics established ownership of the devices and several images and videos of child pornography.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, the Barrie Police ICE Unit arrested a 24-year-old Orillia male and charged him with Accessing Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography on April 27, 2022. The male was held for bail and later released on specific conditions related to the criminal offences.
