On Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 11:09 p.m., the Barrie Police Service was notified of a single motor vehicle collision that had just taken place on Fox Run.
Upon arrival at the scene, police located the vehicle which had left the roadway, struck a boulevard electrical transformer, and came to rest against a tree on the front lawn of a home.
The driver, a 46-year-old female from Barrie was arrested at the scene and transported to Barrie Police Headquarters where she was interviewed by a qualified Drug Recognition Evaluator who determined that she was operating her motor vehicle while impaired by drug.
She was charged with Operate While Impaired and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine and was later released from custody. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on February 21, 2024.
The motor vehicle that the accused was operating at the time of the collision has been impounded for seven days and her licence has been suspended for 90-days in accordance with the Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program.
