On Monday, January 29, 2024, at 1:33 a.m., the Barrie Police Service responded to a report of a robbery at the Circle K located at 353 Duckworth Street.

At 1:26 a.m., the suspect approached the cashier and while armed with a kitchen style knife and demanded money and cigarettes. The employee complied with the request and the suspect fled a short time later with an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and a large quantity of packaged cigarettes.

The suspect, who is described as male white, 5’8-5’10, wearing a grey toque, red and black and grey flannel button up, with a black hoodie, black and white and red Nike sneakers with red laces, and a light brown face mask was last seen fleeing the area on foot, through the parking lot, towards Sylvia Street.

This ongoing investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Service’s Criminal Investigation Division and they are hoping that someone may recognize the suspect responsible for this robbery. His footwear may be a key to his identity as his red and black coloured Nike shoes with red laces, are believed to be somewhat unique.

Anyone with information that may assist in identifying the suspect is asked to please call 705-725-7025, extension 2534 or if you wish to remain anonymous, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Although there were two reported robberies in just under five hours in the same area of northeast Barrie, Barrie Police does not believe that they are connected in any way.
