Barrie Police responded to a report of an overnight break and enter to a restaurant located on Fairview Road after cleaning staff arrived Monday morning just after 8:00 a.m. and located a broken window.

From the police investigation that followed, responding officers have determined that between  2:45 a.m. and 3:06 a.m., an unknown male threw an umbrella base through a small patio window which allowed him to access the premises. Once inside, he selected a quantity of assorted alcoholic beverages from behind the bar and canned beverages from refrigerators and loaded them up into containers. Prior to leaving, a number of bottles of red wine were thrown around the restaurant. These bottles shattered and created a large mess.

From obtained video surveillance, the suspect is described as a white male, 6′, 150-170lbs, long hair, short beard wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, light pants carrying a cross body satchel.

In total, over $1500 in alcoholic beverages were stolen and the cost to repair the broken window is estimated at $1000.

If anyone recognizes the description of the suspect or has information on who is responsible for this senseless crime, you are asked to contact the investigating officer by email at [email protected].
