On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, as a result of an ongoing investigation, the Barrie Police Service Street Crime Unit, assisted by the Service’s Tactical Support Unit safely conducted a high-risk vehicle stop in a north-east Barrie plaza parking lot.

As a result of this investigation, a Criminal Code Search Warrant was also executed at a north-end Barrie residence.

Investigators from the Barrie Police Service have located and seized three different firearms, along with the ammunition for each of these guns. Further investigation has also revealed that two of these firearms were stolen from a violent residential robbery that occurred on January 2, 2024.

Four Barrie residents, three males and one female, all of no fixed address, have been arrested and are facing firearms, property and other Criminal Code charges which include failing to comply with probation, undertakings and other court related matters. Two of the arrested males were held for a Bail Hearing that was conducted yesterday, by video, with the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie and have been remanded in custody. The other suspects were investigated and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on February 21, 2024.

This investigation remains ongoing, and no further details will be released at this time.
