Yesterday morning, shortly after at 10:20 a.m., Barrie Police responded to an incident that occurred in Sunnidale Park after the victim was approached by an unknown male.

The female victim in this incident was walking in the northeast section of the park near the arboretum when a male, who was walking in the opposite direction stopped as he got closer to her. The male began to perform an indecent act while the victim continued to walk away and contacted police.

Police responded and searched the pathways, embankment and a wooded area but were unable to locate the male.

The suspect is described as male white, early 20’s, 5’7”, light coloured hair, and was wearing a dark jacket and track pants.

Police are not aware of any other incidents occurring in this park and believe this is an isolated incident. If any member of the community sees anyone fitting the description of the suspect or has had a similar incident take place, you are encouraged to call police.
