On Monday, October 9, 2023, at 6:47 p.m., Barrie Police responded to a report of an injured male after he walked into an establishment located at Bradford and Victoria Streets.
From the investigation that followed, police have determined that the victim, a 40-year-old male of no fixed address, had sustained a significant laceration to the head and the shoulder blade area. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. It has not been confirmed what type of weapon was involved, but it could have been an edged weapon of some type.
Police through the evening attempted to locate where the male had been injured but were unable to do so and there is no information available as to who injured him.
A canvass of the area was also conducted, and some surveillance video has been located which only shows the victim but no assailant(s).
The investigation into this incident remains ongoing and it appears to be isolated in nature.
