On Saturday August 28, 2021, at 1:44 p.m., a Barrie Police officer stopped a motor vehicle on Bryne Drive after receiving information that the registered owner was driving while under suspension. In addition to the driver, there were two passengers in the motor vehicle, a male who sat up front and a female who was in the rear seat.
As the officer approached the driver’s side door which had been opened by the driver, a white substance that was believed to be cocaine was observed.
All three occupants of the motor vehicle were arrested, and the investigation continued. Police then located additions substances that were in the vehicle and were believed to be cocaine and fentanyl. A loaded semi-automatic firearm was also located in the car and as a result, all three arrested persons were transported to Barrie Police Headquarters for further investigation.
The driver, a 24-year-old male of no fixed address from Barrie, the front seat passenger, who is a 22-year-old resident of Guelph and the rear seat passenger, a 30-year–old female of no fixed address from Barrie were all charged in relation to this incident and held for a bail hearing on Sunday, August 29, 2021. All three were subsequently remanded into custody.
