On Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 12:56 p.m., the Barrie Police Service was advised of a male who was armed with a knife and waving it in a dangerous manner at a Mulcaster St. address.
The male had reportedly left the area on foot but was located a short distance away by responding officers. After a brief interaction that effectively de-escalated the situation, police took the man into custody. He was transported to Barrie Police Headquarters where the investigation continued.
The accused, who is a 38-year-old male of no fixed address, was charged with Fail to Comply with Probation Order (7 counts), Cause a Disturbance, Carry Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon and was held for a bail hearing which is scheduled to take place today, by video, with the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie.
