On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 9:42 p.m., the Barrie Police Service responded to a report of a male who had been seriously injured after an incident that involved a group of people on northside of Dunlop Street East, west of Owen Street in the city of Barrie.

From the investigation that followed, police have determined that there were two victims that had been injured after an interaction with a group that involved five or six individuals. One male had been struck with a blunt object and was not seriously injured, while a second male had been stabbed. The stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital and later air lifted to a Toronto area Trauma Centre where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A perimeter was established by responding officers and canine tracks were conducted in the immediate and surrounding area. Regrettably, these were unsuccessful in locating the suspects wanted for this occurrence.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by members of the Barrie Police Service Criminal Investigation Division and at present, there have been no arrests. Video surveillance from the Downtown area will continue to be reviewed with the hope that the persons responsible can be identified.

Anyone who has information that may assist with the investigation or may have dash camera video is asked to please contact police at 705-725-7025.
