Keeping Pets Safe
January 31st, 2017 - Police & the Community

Even with fur coats, pets need to be protected from the cold; exposure to harsh conditions can cause serious illness or death to animals.

Ontario's Laws require that animal’s receive adequate shelter and care. Willful failure to do so could lead to a fine and or jail time.

Police continue to receive calls for pets that have been left in cold vehicles or left outside for an extended period of time. Please do not leave pets in cold vehicles and limit their time outside. For further information on how to keep your pet safe click here.

If you believe that an animal is in distress, or to report suspected animal abuse, 24/7 call 310-SPCA or e-mail cruelty@ospca.on.ca
