ARRESTED - Woman Turns Herself Into Police Following Theft

A 47-year-old woman from Toronto turned herself into police on Friday, September 15, 2107. The woman had been captured on video surveillance stealing approximately 130 pairs of woman's underwear in early February, at La Senza, located in the Georgian Mall, in the City of  Barrie.

The woman has been charged with; Theft Under and Breach of Probation, and will appear in a Barrie Court of Justice in October.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identity a suspect wanted for theft. Video surveillance captured the incident on Friday, February 3, 2017 at La Senza, located at the Georgian Mall at 509 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie.

Just before 5:00 p.m. a woman entered La Senza and walked directly to the back of the store and grabbed nine stacks of ladies underwear and concealed them under the winter jacket she had been carrying. Just before walking out of the store the woman selected another stack of underwear, again concealing them under her jacket. The woman left the store unnoticed with a total of 130 ladies underwear.

The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as;

  • Female, white
  • Short brown-red hair
  • Heavy build
  • Wearing a grey sweater, dark pants, tall black boots and carrying a black purse and dark winter jacket.
