Barrie Police are currently asking for the public's assistance in identifying a male wanted in the theft of meat from a Barrie grocery store.

On Tuesday, January 31st, 2017 at 12:00pm officers were called to No Frills located at 165 Wellington Street West, in the City of Barrie, in regards to a theft that occurred on Saturday, January 28th, 2017.   The male suspect attended with an unknown female shortly after noon Saturday and filled up a re-usable grocery bag with multiple roasts while the female shopped.  He exited the store without paying for the items and then returned to complete the shopping with the female where both attended the cash to pay for the groceries. Coincidentally at 2:15pm Tuesday, shortly after the original report was taken, the same male was spotted in the store filling up a bag with the same type of roasts.  However, he was spooked by security and abandoned the meat before fleeing the store.
