Occurrence Type: Angry and Persistent Beaver Re-located Safely
Occurrence #: BA17021800
Date: Friday, May 5, 2017 - 9:30pm

On Friday, May 5th, 2017 police faced off with an angry beaver on Commerce Park Drive at Bryne Drive, in the City of Barrie, shortly after 9:30pm. Officers had to encourage the beaver to safely move it off the roadway, cautiously using their baton and strategic tactical communication. The angry beaver was not to be so easily persuaded and came back, stopping traffic yet again. Officers re-attended and boxed up the herbivorous mammal after receiving advice from animal control. The semi-aquatic rodent was released back into the wild and the roadways in Barrie are safe yet again.
