Police Week - Working Together for Safer Communities

Police Week - Working Together for Safer Communities
May 1st, 2017 - Police & the Community

Police Week is an excellent opportunity to meet members of the Barrie Police Service and have an inside look at policing!

Police Week provides opportunities for police and the community to join together to celebrate policing and to talk about the public safety issues that affect the health and safety of our community. We believe in community policing. It’s what we do. For community policing to have a positive impact on our communities, we need individuals, families, businesses, and community groups to work together.

Police Week is also an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in policing to find out if it’s for them. The Barrie Police Service is looking to attract highly qualified and motivated people from many different backgrounds as policing professionals. Due to the nature of police work, this is a profession where people will apply the skills and experiences they have developed from their previous training, education, professional, and personal life. Policing offers opportunities for personal growth, continuous learning, a high level of job satisfaction and opportunities for specialization.

The Barrie Police Service will be hosting various events throughout the City of Barrie during Police Week; this is a family fun filled week!
