Investigators with the Barrie Police Homicide Unit have arrested and charged 21-year-old Max Cameron PRITCHETT of Barrie, ON. The accused turned himself into police on Monday, August 28, 2017.

PRITCHETT had been wanted on a Canada wide warrant for the August 13, 2017 shooting on Mulcaster Street and Lakeshore Drive, in the City of Barrie.

PRITCHETT has been charged with; Attempted Murder, Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order, Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, Possession of Prohibited Device, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule 1 Substance-Cocaine and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule II-Marijuana.

He is scheduled to appear before an Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on Monday, August 28, 2017.

A Canada Wide Warrant has been authorized for the arrest of 21-year-old Max Cameron PRITCHETT, of Barrie.

PRITCHETT was has been wanted following the August 13, 2017 shooting that occurred on Mulcaster Street and Lakeshore Drive, in the City of Barrie. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Max Cameron PRITCHETT is described as;

  • Male, white (21 yrs.)
  • 5’8”, 142 lbs.
  • Medium build
  • Brown hair and blue eyes

Arrest Made In Downtown Shooting - Dylan Brown Arrested on a Canada Wide Warrant(Update) Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Investigators with the Barrie Police Homicide Unit have arrested and charged the second suspect, a 24-year-old man from London, ON., wanted for the August 13, 2017 shooting on Mulcaster Street and Lakeshore Drive, in the City of Barrie.

Dylan BROWN, 24-years-old who was wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for Attempted Murder, was arrested by London Police Service on Monday, August 21, 2017. The Barrie Police Service has since taken custody of Dylan BROWN. He appeared before an Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on Tuesday and was remanded until August 28, 2017.

Further investigation has led to the arrest of 43-year-old Douglas PRITCHETT, of Barrie, the father of Max Cameron PRITCHETT. Douglas PRITCHETT has been arrested and charged with; Accessory After the Fact to Attempt Murder, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Careless Handling of a Firearm. He is scheduled to appear before an Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on Tuesday, August 28, 2017.

Investigators continue to seek the publics’ assistance in locating Max Cameron PRITCHETT, a 21-year-old Barrie resident. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

  • Male, white (21 yrs.)
  • 5’8", 142 lbs.
  • Medium build
  • Brown hair and blue eyes

Second Suspect Identified - Both Men Wanted for Attempted Murder

Homicide Investigators have identified the second suspect in relation to a shooting incident in the City of Barrie.

Investigators have issued a Canada wide warrant for Dylan BROWN, a 24-year-old, London, Ontario resident. BROWN has been identified as the second suspect following a shooting that took place on Sunday, August 13, 2017, in the area of Mulcaster Street and Lakeshore Drive in the City of Barrie. 

Dylan BROWN is described as;

  • Male, white (24 yrs.)
  • 5’11”, 160 lbs.
  • Brown hair and brown eyes
  • Tattoo on right hand and lower forearm of a star and diamond

BROWN should be considered armed and dangerous. If BROWN is seen, he is not to be approached and police should be contacted immediately by calling 9-1-1.

Warrant of Arrest Issued for Attempted Murder

Homicide Investigators have issued an arrest warrant for a male suspect in relation to a shooting incident in the City of Barrie.

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Max Cameron PRITCHETT, a 21-year-old Barrie resident, in relation to a shooting that took place on Sunday, August 13, 2017, in the area of Mulcaster Street and Lakeshore Drive in the City of Barrie. 

Max Cameron PRITCHETT is described as;

  • Male, white (21 yrs.)
  • 5’8”, 142 lbs.
  • Medium build
  • Brown hair and blue eyes

PRITCHETT should be considered armed and dangerous. If PRITCHETT is seen, he is not to be approached and police should be contacted immediately by calling 9-1-1.        

Investigators are seeking the identity of a second suspect who they believe was involved in the incident, and he is described as;

  • Male, white
  • 5’7” – 5’10”
  • Wearing a red “Blue Jays” baseball hat, red t-shirt, red pants and white shoes

This suspect should also be considered armed and dangerous. If  is seen, he is not to be approached and police should be contacted immediately by calling 9-1-1.

Witnesses Sought After A Male Is Shot
(Update) Sunday, August 13, 2017 – 5:00 p.m.

Investigators have seized a vehicle from an address on Toronto Street, in the City of Barrie. It is believed to be associated to a suspect following the early morning shooting on Mulcaster Street and Lakeshore Drive.

The victim remains in serious condition at a Greater Toronto Area hospital.

The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided as they become available.

Witnesses Sought After A Male Is Shot

Investigators with the Barrie Police Service are seeking witnesses after a male was shot on Mulcaster Street, in the City of Barrie.

On Saturday, August 13, 2017, at 1:30 a.m., police were called to Mulcaster Street and Lakeshore Drive for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived they located a 28-year-old man from Barrie, suffering from serious injuries.

Investigators believe the suspect shot the victim in the middle of Mulcaster Street and fled in a vehicle. The victim was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and then later transferred to a GTA hospital.

Investigators believe that this shooting was targeted.

Investigators are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident that have not spoken to police, or anyone that may have been in the area to please come forward.
