Barrie Police Community Response Unit (CRU) officers have arrested a 23-year-old Barrie man following a stabbing in the City of Barrie.

On Friday, September 21, 2018, just after 8:00 p.m. police responded to a stabbing in the area of Collier and Clapperton Street. When officers arrived, they located a victim who had sustained an injury after being stabbed.

The victim, a 32-year-old Barrie man, was transported to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Investigators canvassed the area and determined the incident had taken place in the area of Worsley and Clapperton Street and that two men were known to each other, which led to the targeted attack.

Earlier today, on Saturday, September 22, 2018, just before 11:00 a.m. the suspect was located in the area of Toronto and Dunlop Street, and he was arrested without incident. The 23-year-old man has been charged with; Aggravated Assault, Robbery, and three (3) counts of Fail to Comply with Probation. He will remain in custody and appear in bail court via video remand.
