Occurrence #: BA18051087
Date: Wednesday, October 10, 2018 - 1:40pm

On Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 at 1:40 pm Barrie Police were called to the intersection of St. Vincent Street and Grove Street East after reports of a multi-vehicle collision.  The investigation revealed that two vehicles were stopped at a red light on northbound St. Vincent Street.  A third vehicle travelling in the same direction collided with the two stopped vehicles, pushing them into the busy intersection, one striking the light post. Keen eyed drivers approaching the intersection were able to react appropriately and avoid any further impact.

Two drivers and one passenger were taken to a local hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries. The roadway was shut down for approximately an hour and a half as the Traffic Unit investigated the incident and removed debris. Upon concluding their investigation, officers charged a 68-year-old Barrie male, who was driving the third vehicle, with Careless Driving.
