On Tuesday November 8, 2022, just before 11:30 p.m., Barrie Police responded to a noise complaint on Ferndale Drive South. Upon arrival, police located a pickup truck in a parking lot that was running with loud music coming from within it. The driver was slouched over the centre console and appeared to be asleep.
Once police were able to get the attention of the driver and he exited his truck, it was apparent that he was impaired. The driver, a 44-year-old male from Barrie was arrested and transported to Barrie Police Headquarters where the investigation continued, and suitable breath samples were obtained.
The driver was charged with impaired operation, operation while impaired over .80mgs. and was released with a court date in late November. His motor vehicle was impounded for 7-days and his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ALDS).
