Last night, just before 10:00 p.m., the Barrie Police Service was notified of a theft that had just taken place from a retail store located at the north end of Bayfield Street.

From the investigation that followed, police have learned that an unknown male had initially entered the store, made a purchase, and returned a short time later. When he did return, he walked over to a glass display case, smashed it open and stole a large quantity of video games valued at almost $4000.

Barrie Police is trying to obtain video surveillance of this theft, however, the person responsible is described as male black, 6’5, 150 lbs., wearing grey track pants, a black jacket, a black surgical style mask and black gloves. He was carrying a black bag that he put the stolen video games in and wore a black backpack on his back.

A canine track was conducted but concluded without an arrest near the area of Kozlov Street, just north of Pearcey Crescent.

If anyone has information on the identity of the suspect, please call 705-725-7025, extension 2795.
