Police investigate multiple break and enters

Published on: Jun 4, 2024 | Categories:

Late Sunday afternoon, the Barrie Police Service was contacted after a number of break and enters were discovered at a waterfront condominium complex.

From the investigation that followed, it was determined that sometime shortly after 12:45 a.m., an unknown male dressed in black clothing entered the building located at 6 Toronto St. and was seen leaving on video surveillance at 4:10 a.m. During that time, five condominiums were entered after their front doors were forced open.

A Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) assisted with the investigation and attended to several of the involved units with the hope of locating evidence that may identify the person responsible.

From video surveillance that has been obtained by police, the only other identifier that may assist in identifying the suspect is that he had a red backpack and wore a hood during his time in the building.

This investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Barrie Police Constable Tompkins who is the investigating officer at [email protected].
