On Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:01 officers from the Barrie Police Service responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just taken place at a credit union located on Alliance Blvd. in the city of Barrie.

From the investigation that followed, police have determined that two unknown males, who both wore full face coverings, burst into the credit union brandishing firearms and made a demand for money.

After obtaining a significant amount of Canadian and American currency, the suspects fled in what is described as a white, newer model 4-door Mercedes Benz. It is believed that this vehicle is the same vehicle that the suspects arrived in prior to the robbery and that it was parked out front while the robbery took place.

The suspects wanted for this robbery are described as male and although their faces were completely covered, they are both believed to be in their 20’s and spoke with what has been described as a Jamaican accent.

The first suspect is described as being just under 6’ in height, with a slim build and was wearing a dark top and gray colored track pants. The second suspect was shorter than suspect number one, also had a slim build and wore dark clothing that included black track pants.

Investigators from the Barrie Police Criminal Investigation Division spent yesterday afternoon looking at seized video surveillance from the area and have determined that the involved motor vehicle turned left from Alliance Blvd. onto Bell Farm Rd. and was last seen headed towards Duckworth St.

Anyone with information or anyone who many have dash camera video, was travelling on Bell Farm Rd. between 10:50 – 11:00 a.m. and may have captured an image of a newer model Mercedes Benz is asked to please contact the lead investigator Sgt. Armstrong at 705-725-7025, extension 2586. If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
