On Thursday, August 24, 2023, the Barrie Police Service Street Crime Unit and the Tactical Support Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a downtown Barrie residence after conducting a drug related investigation.
As a result of this search warrant, a 34-year-old male and a 30-year-old female, both of Barrie, were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (5 counts), Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (3 counts), and Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime over $5000.
A search of the residence revealed that these individuals were in possession cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, several prescription pills, and a large amount of Canadian currency.
Both of the accused suspects were transported to Barrie Police Headquarters and upon completion of the investigation, they were released from custody. They are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie in early October.
