A 34-year-old male, of no fixed address, is facing a slew of criminal charges stemming from an investigation conducted by detectives from the Barrie Police Property Crime/Auto Theft Unit.

Beginning on April 1, 2024, and ending on April 27, the male attended the same business located in the Georgian Mall on 12 occasions and stole sunglasses that were valued in excess of $40,000.00.

Police were able to identify the male and on May 1, 2024, he was located in downtown Barrie where he was arrested.

The accused has been charged with Fail to Comply with Probation, Theft under $5000 (12 counts), Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (12 counts) and Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
