The Barrie Police Service is trying to identify a male suspect who is believed to be responsible for three robbery occurrences that have taken place in the city of Barrie since January 17, 2023.
In that occurrence a lone male entered a variety store located in a plaza at Duckworth St. and Grove St. East in the City of Barrie. He was armed with two edged weapons, made a demand for cash and fled on foot. A canine track was conducted, but the suspect was able to elude capture.
The second robbery occurred on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at approximately 11:35 p.m. at a convenience store located in a plaza on the south side of Cundles Rd. W., west of Bayfield St., when the suspect again produced an edged weapon, made a demand for cash, and fled on foot. A canine track was again conducted after responding officers contained the immediate area. The track concluded in a nearby parking lot and again the suspect was able to elude police.
On Saturday night (February 11), at 9:52 p.m., a male suspect, who was again armed with two edged weapons, entered the same variety store as the January 17, 2023, robbery and made a demand for cash. He again fled on foot but after a canine track managed again to make good his escape.
