On Friday, November 1, 2019, at approximately 2:45 a.m., officers from the Barrie Police Service responded to a report of an injured male who had been located at the intersection of Wellington and Toronto Streets. Upon arrival, police determined that the male, a 33-year-old Barrie resident, who had been transported to a local hospital and succumbed to his injuries, was the victim of a fail to remain collision.

 As a result of an exhaustive investigation that was conducted by the Barrie Police Traffic Unit and following up on information that was received late yesterday afternoon, a 37-year old Barrie man has been arrested and charged with Fail to Remain at Accident Causing Death, contrary to Section 320.16(3), Criminal Code of Canada.

 The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
